Our final day in the Galápagos was spent on San Cristóbal before heading home. We sadly had to say goodbye to our new friends we made but we knew it was just a matter of time before seeing them again!
Compared to the previous islands, the day felt a little anticlimactic. San Cristóbal was mostly a necessary stop so we could catch our flight home, but we made the best of it.
We visited the Interpretation Center to learn more about the history, geology, conservation efforts, and human settlement of the islands before spending the rest of our time wandering around town mostly looking at street art.
We stopped at a local bakery for snacks and enjoyed a chance to experience a little bit of everyday life after spending most of the week focused on wildlife and remote islands.
It was a quiet way to bring the trip to a close before heading to the airport and beginning the journey home.
